Credit Recovery Q/A Blog
Welcome to our Credit Recovery Q/A blog! On Mondays Credit Recovery students will meet in my classroom to work on their online classwork using Fuel Education to be able to stay on track for graduation. This is a safe place for you to post questions or concerns about your class. Remember, the first step if you have an issue is to e-mail your actual online teacher.

SNOW DAYS
This should not be a factor during the fall 2017 semester, but for those of you who are also taking courses online during the spring 2018 session we may have snow days. There are enough days built into our calendar that you should not have any problem hitting the Board required thirty hours, however you may struggle with getting all the coursework finished in that time. Remember to always work at home when you have free time and to not just rely on Mondays! If we have snow days, I will call and or text you and your parents by 8AM to let everyone know that the weather is not cooperating. We will follow the next scheduled calendar day and if need be, we will add more days at the end of the regularly scheduled session.
English CR Students
One of the most asked English questions I have noticed is how does one properly cite sources in MLA format. I want you all to remember that MLA formatting is constantly changing, evolving, and being updated! You need to make sure you use a credible MLA citing website such as OWL Purdue to make sure you are learning the rules on the most up to date version of MLA. You can also use online tools to help you get started on your citation. I recommend Citation Machine. This allows you to simply copy and paste the URL and the website will do most of the work for you!
Math CR Students
When I think about taking an online math course, I literally shudder. I am not good at math and to think that I will need to learn it all on my own using an online classroom is daunting! I wanted to remind those of you who are taking Algebra, Consumer Math, Geometry, or any other online math course about KHAN Academy. You would not get any extra point for using this tool, but it is a free way to watch videos and practice problems. All you need to have is access to the Internet! Sometimes when we are trying to learn something, our brains get stuck thinking about one problem or complex issue. If you find yourself stuck on math, try KHAN Academy for extra help. Don't forget also, you can always e-mail your instructor, or go see Mr. Hesford before school or after school for tutoring.
This is just a reminder that Credit Recover begins on Monday, September 18. We will meet in my classroom from 10AM-4PM to work on our online classes. You need to stay on top of the calendar and make sure you are getting all 30 of your required hours in as well as passing the course. Remember, we are not in session these days, so you will need to bring your lunch. Those students who are coming from vo-tech are expected to be in the classroom as soon as the bus drops you off at the school. You will need your username and password to log into PEAK to start your course. Good Luck!
